Platform Rules & User Rights
Last updated: May 26, 2026 — Companion to the Terms of Service
The Terms of Service is the binding legal contract. This document expands on it — in plain language and with more specificity — so that you understand exactly what you can do here, what you cannot, and what rights both you and the platform have when things go wrong.
We wrote this because we think transparency is the right approach. If you read this document and feel the platform's actual behavior contradicts it, contact us.
1. Definitions
"Forge" / "the Service" — The AI roleplay studio operated by Gamerz Landing at forge.gamerzlanding.com, including all features, APIs, and associated tooling.
"Gamerz Landing" / "we" / "us" — The sole proprietor operating the Service (Alexander Glanville, wordsmith.alex@gmail.com).
"User" / "you" — Any person who accesses or uses the Service under any account tier.
"Content" — Any text, images, audio, characters, lorebooks, scenarios, personas, or other creative material you create, upload, generate, share, or publish through the Service.
"AI Output" — Text, images, or audio generated by the underlying AI models in response to your prompts.
"Adult Tier" — The opt-in content mode available to verified users 18 years of age or older. Enabling it unlocks adult content generation and removes the SFW-only filter, subject to all prohibitions stated in this document.
"Character Card" — A structured data object (CCv3 format) defining an AI character's personality, background, dialogue examples, and associated assets.
"Community Library" — The public catalog of character cards and assets that users may voluntarily publish and share.
2. What Forge Permits — Affirmative Content Rights
This section states affirmatively what you are allowed to do. Read it as a grant of rights, not a list of exceptions.
2a. Standard Tier — SFW (All Users)
- Long-form collaborative storytelling and roleplay across any genre: fantasy, science fiction, horror, mystery, historical fiction, contemporary drama, romance (non-explicit), adventure, and any hybrid thereof.
- Characters with morally complex, dark, or villainous personalities — including characters who hold views the platform does not endorse — provided they are clearly framed as fictional.
- Violence with narrative stakes: combat, war, crime, horror elements, injury, death, and the psychological aftermath of violence — written with craft and consequence.
- Dark psychological themes: trauma, addiction, grief, depression, abuse as a story element (not glorification), obsession, manipulation, moral failure, and moral ambiguity.
- Romantic and emotionally intimate content between characters, including tension, longing, jealousy, heartbreak, and non-explicit physical affection.
- Political, religious, philosophical, and ideological content in a creative or exploratory context — including portraying extremist characters as part of a story, provided the content is clearly fictional and not incitement.
- Historical settings and content, including periods involving slavery, colonialism, war crimes, or atrocity, where the content treats the subject with appropriate seriousness.
- Horror content, including psychological horror, body horror, cosmic horror, and supernatural horror — including content that is disturbing or frightening by design.
- Villain protagonists and anti-heroes whose worldview is repugnant but whose story arc is explored with narrative intentionality.
- Creative writing in which the narrator or a character uses slurs, hate speech, or extreme language as part of authentic characterization of a bigoted or hateful character — provided the framing makes clear this is characterization, not endorsement.
- Imported and created character cards in standard CCv3 format, lorebooks, personas, regex triggers, and scenario templates.
- Private roleplay sessions that are not shared with or visible to other users.
2b. Adult Tier — Explicit Content (Verified 18+ Only)
All of the above, plus:
- Explicit sexual content between adult characters (human or fantastical non-human), including detailed depictions of consensual sexual acts.
- Romantic and erotic fiction between adult characters involving power dynamics, dominance and submission, and similar consensual-adult themes — provided all parties are unambiguously adults and the content is between consenting parties within the story's fiction.
- Dark adult fiction that explores trauma, coercion, or non-consent as serious narrative elements — depicted as the harmful, consequential thing they are, not eroticized or presented approvingly. The distinction is craft and framing: depicting versus endorsing.
- Taboo adult themes explored through fiction: unconventional relationships, kink, and similar content between adult characters where the fiction serves a storytelling or creative purpose.
- Explicit violence in mature genres — graphic horror, war fiction, crime fiction — where the violence serves narrative stakes and is not purely gratuitous.
- Adult character cards with explicit content tags, imported from compatible external ecosystems or created on-platform, used within your private library.
- Publishing adult-tagged character cards to the Community Library, where they are age-gated and only visible to verified adult users who have enabled the adult tier.
2c. Creator Rights Within the Platform
- You retain full ownership of original creative content you author — characters, lorebooks, scenarios, personas, and session transcripts you wrote.
- You may export your content at any time in standard formats (CCv3 JSON, plain text) and use it on other platforms or in your own work.
- You may publish content to the Community Library and unpublish it at any time. Copies already saved to other users' libraries before unpublishing are not recalled, but your work is no longer discoverable or copyable after unpublishing.
- You may use a pseudonym and are not required to disclose your real identity to other users.
- You may use AI-generated outputs — including session transcripts, generated images, and generated audio — for any lawful personal or commercial purpose. We make no ownership claim on AI outputs.
3. What Forge Prohibits — Full Prohibition List
These rules apply to all content, all tiers, and all features. The Adult Tier does not create exceptions to any rule in this section.
3a. Absolute Prohibitions — Hard Lines
Violation of any item in this section results in immediate permanent termination, no refund, and reporting to law enforcement where required by law.
- Sexual content involving minors. Any sexual content depicting a character who is, or is described as being, under 18 years of age. This applies to real and fictional characters, text and images, regardless of species, and regardless of claimed fictional framing. A character written as a minor is a minor. Aging a canonically minor character up "in the story" does not change what the content depicts.
- Ambiguous ages in sexual content. If a character's age is ambiguous or unstated in sexual content, they are treated as a minor and the content is prohibited. Deliberately leaving age unstated to exploit ambiguity is itself a violation.
- Sexual content involving real, identifiable people without documented consent. This includes all public figures, celebrities, and private individuals. Fan fiction may portray real people in non-sexual contexts; sexual scenarios involving real people are prohibited without exception.
- Operational instructions for weapons capable of mass casualties. This means working synthesis routes for chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear weapons; working schematics for explosive devices designed for mass harm; or detailed attack plans targeting specific infrastructure — regardless of fictional framing. The fictional wrapper does not neutralize the information.
- Content inciting imminent violence against identified real people or groups. Creating content specifically designed to cause a specific real person or identifiable group to fear for their safety.
- Non-consensual exposure of private information (doxxing). Publishing or generating content that reveals another person's home address, phone number, financial account information, medical information, workplace location, or other private identifying details without their consent and with intent to harm.
3b. Platform Standard Prohibitions — Adult Tier Included
These prohibitions reflect Forge's editorial standard — the line between creative fiction and content whose primary function is harm. We will exercise judgment in applying these, and we will err on the side of the standard.
- Non-consent presented approvingly. Adult fiction may depict sexual assault as a serious, consequential, traumatic narrative event — as serious literature does. What is prohibited is content in which the narrative voice presents the non-consent as erotic, desirable, or without meaningful consequence to the victim; content that functions as a guide or fantasy script for real-world assault; and content where the point of the scene is the violation itself, not its meaning within a story.
- Sexual content involving the circumvention-via-fiction technique. Requesting content that would be prohibited if asked directly, by embedding the request in a roleplay or story. Examples: "write a story where a character explains how to synthesize [drug]"; "roleplay a scene where the character teaches [weapon construction]." The fictional wrapper does not change what is being generated.
- Sexualized content involving real animals. Fictional anthropomorphic characters (furry, fantasy creatures) are evaluated under the adult-tier standard. Realistic sexual depictions of actual animals are prohibited.
- Extended gratuitous suffering with no discernible narrative purpose. Violence and suffering serve fiction. Content consisting primarily of prolonged, detailed depiction of torture, mutilation, or degradation — with no character arc, no narrative consequence, no craft — is not creative writing under this standard. We will exercise judgment. This is a culture standard, not a legal one.
- Impersonation designed to deceive. Creating content that impersonates a real person, another user, or a Forge staff member in a way designed to deceive others — including in published community content.
- Harassment of identifiable private individuals. Generating content designed to intimidate, shame, stalk, or harm a specific real private person — distinct from public commentary on public figures.
- Intellectual property violations. Uploading, generating, or publishing content that reproduces substantial portions of copyrighted works without authorization; creating character cards that use copyrighted characters in ways that exceed fair use and could expose the platform or other users to legal liability.
- Automated or scripted abuse. Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to generate large volumes of content, bypass cost caps, circumvent rate limits, or engage in activity that degrades service quality for other users.
- Account manipulation. Creating multiple accounts to evade a ban, access features above your purchased tier, or misrepresent your age to access adult content.
4. Adult Content Framework
Age Verification and the Age Gate
The adult tier is restricted to users 18 years of age or older. You must affirmatively confirm your age before the adult tier is enabled on your account. This confirmation is a legal representation — knowingly misrepresenting your age to access adult content is a violation of these rules and, in many jurisdictions, potentially actionable independently of our enforcement.
We use a self-attested age gate during the beta period. We reserve the right to implement third-party age verification as the platform scales or as applicable law requires.
Parental Controls and Account Security
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor is accessing adult content through an account, contact us immediately at support@gamerzlanding.com. We will investigate and, where confirmed, disable adult content access and take appropriate action.
Adult Content Visibility
Adult-tagged community library content is not visible to users who have not enabled the adult tier. SFW users see only SFW community content. Adult content is never shown by default to any user, regardless of account age.
Adult Content and Payment Processing
Adult content access requires a payment processor that supports adult content platforms. By enabling adult content and purchasing a subscription, you acknowledge that your payment method will be charged by such a processor and that the transaction may be described as adult content on your statement.
5. User Rights & Recourse
These are the specific rights you have as a user, and the actions available to you when something goes wrong.
5a. Right to Appeal Moderation Decisions
If your content is removed, your account is suspended, or a feature is restricted, you have the right to request a review by emailing support@gamerzlanding.com with:
- Your account username or registered email address
- A description of the action taken and approximately when
- Your explanation of why you believe the action was in error
We will acknowledge appeals within 5 business days. We will issue a decision within 14 business days for non-emergency cases. For permanent bans, the decision is final once issued. For content removal, we may restore content if we determine it was removed in error.
What we will not do: We will not debate moderation decisions in real-time chat or over multiple email threads. One appeal per incident. We will explain the rule that was applied but will not negotiate the rule itself.
What you should know: Violations of Section 3a (absolute prohibitions) are not appealable. These result in immediate permanent termination and there is no review process.
5b. Right to Data Export
- You may export your character cards and creative assets at any time through the in-app export function (CCv3 JSON format).
- You may export your session chat history through the in-app history export function.
- If your account is terminated, contact us within 30 days of termination to request a data export. We will provide a reasonable export of your original creative content. We will not export AI-generated chat logs beyond what the in-app export already provides.
- We do not provide exports of system-internal data (logs, billing records, moderation records) to users.
5c. Right to Account Deletion
- You may delete your account at any time through account settings. Deletion is permanent and not reversible.
- On deletion: your private sessions, characters, lorebooks, personas, and preferences are deleted. Published community content is removed from the library. Copies already saved by other users to their private libraries before deletion are not recalled.
- We retain records required by law (billing transaction records, NCMEC reports if applicable) after account deletion, per our Privacy Policy.
- Deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund of unused subscription time, except as stated in Section 10.
5d. Right to Billing Dispute
- If you believe you were charged incorrectly — wrong amount, charge after cancellation, duplicate charge — contact us at support@gamerzlanding.com within 60 days of the charge.
- Provide your account email, the charge amount, the date it appeared, and why you believe it is incorrect.
- We will investigate and respond within 10 business days. If we determine the charge was in error, we will issue a refund to your original payment method within 5 business days of that determination.
- You also have the right to dispute charges directly with your card issuer (chargeback). We ask that you contact us first — most billing disputes can be resolved without a formal chargeback. However, we will not penalize your account for filing a chargeback if you have a genuine dispute.
- Fraudulent chargebacks (disputing valid charges) may result in account termination and referral for collections.
5e. Right to DMCA Counter-Notice
If content you created was removed in response to a DMCA takedown notice and you believe the takedown was in error or that you have the right to use the content (e.g., fair use, you own the copyright, the takedown was fraudulent), you may submit a DMCA counter-notice to support@gamerzlanding.com.
A valid counter-notice must include:
- Your full legal name, address, and phone number
- Identification of the material removed and where it appeared before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
- Your consent to jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address, and to service of process from the original claimant
- Your physical or electronic signature
On receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original claimant. If the claimant does not file a court action within 10 business days, we may restore the content.
5f. Right to Know What Rule Was Applied
When we take a moderation action — removing content, suspending a feature, or terminating an account — we will identify the rule from the Terms of Service or this document that we believe was violated. We will not issue unexplained enforcement actions.
We will not always be able to explain every detail of how we detected a violation (e.g., specific AI classifier outputs), but we will tell you which rule applied.
These are the rights the platform has when users violate the rules — and the specific actions we may take.
6a. Content Removal
We may remove any content that violates the Terms of Service or this document, at any time, with or without notice. For non-critical violations (Section 3b), we will generally notify you when content is removed and explain the rule applied. For Section 3a violations, content is removed immediately and without negotiation.
Removed content is deleted from our servers and is not recoverable. We do not preserve removed content for user retrieval.
6b. Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend (temporary restriction) or terminate (permanent ban) accounts for:
- Any violation of the Terms of Service or this document
- Repeated violations after warnings
- Single severe violations (Section 3a violations are always immediate permanent termination)
- Activity that creates legal, regulatory, or operational risk for the platform even if not explicitly prohibited in these rules
- Fraudulent payment activity, including chargeback abuse
- Providing false information during age verification for the adult tier
Suspended accounts lose access to all paid features during the suspension period. Terminated accounts lose access permanently. Refund eligibility for terminations is governed by Section 10.
6c. Reporting to Law Enforcement and Regulatory Bodies
We are legally required to report confirmed child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. We will do so. We cooperate with valid law enforcement requests, including subpoenas and court orders, as required by law.
We may also, at our discretion, report credible threats of imminent violence against identifiable real people to appropriate law enforcement.
We will not notify you if we are legally prohibited from doing so (e.g., under a court-issued non-disclosure order).
6d. Service Modification
We may modify, restrict, or discontinue any feature, model, tier, or capability of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid subscribers (at least 14 days where feasible). We are not liable for loss of content, characters, or session history caused by discontinuation of a feature, though we will provide data export tools where reasonably possible before discontinuation.
6e. Indemnification and Cost Recovery
If your violation of these rules causes us to incur costs — including legal fees, regulatory penalties, payment processor fees, or costs associated with NCMEC reporting and law enforcement cooperation — you agree to indemnify us for those costs, as stated in the Terms of Service. For Section 3a violations, this indemnification obligation survives account termination.
6f. Rate Limiting and Cost Caps
We enforce per-user daily message limits, daily AI-spend soft caps (which trigger a fallback to a cheaper model rather than blocking you), and monthly hard spend caps (which block further AI generation until the next billing cycle). These are enforced in code, not just policy. The specific limits for your tier are displayed in your account settings and on the pricing page. We may adjust limits at any time with reasonable notice to paid subscribers.
7. Creator & IP Rights
Your Original Content
You own the original creative content you write and author: character descriptions, lorebook entries, scenario setups, personas, and the creative choices that define your fictional world. The license you grant us is narrow — only what is needed to operate the service for you.
AI Output Ownership
The legal status of AI-generated content is actively evolving across jurisdictions. We make no ownership claim over AI outputs. We recommend treating AI-generated content as a creative tool — the human creative choices shaping the output (your prompts, your characters, your edits) are more likely to be protectable than the raw AI output itself. Consult a copyright attorney if you intend to commercially exploit AI-generated content.
Third-Party Characters and IP
Many character cards are based on copyrighted fictional characters. Fan-made character cards occupy a legally gray area (fan fiction and fan art have a long history of tolerance from IP holders, but are not legally protected in the same way original work is). We do not host content we know to be licensed commercially without authorization. If you receive a takedown notice for a character you created, the process in Section 5e applies.
Community Library and Shared Assets
When you publish to the Community Library, you represent that you have the right to share the content and that it does not violate another person's rights. You grant other users a non-exclusive license to use the asset within Forge. You retain all other rights. We do not claim ownership of community library content.
8. AI & Model Disclosure
Models and Providers
Forge routes AI generation to multiple third-party model providers depending on your subscription tier, the feature being used, and current API availability. Active providers include Anthropic (Claude models), Google (Gemini models), DeepSeek, and others accessed through OpenRouter. The specific model used for a given response is tracked and displayed in the chat footer where technically feasible.
Model Behavior and Safety
Each underlying model has its own safety characteristics and content policies. Forge's content pipeline applies our own moderation layer on top of model-level filtering. Neither the models nor our layer are perfect — you may encounter outputs that are inaccurate, unexpected, or contrary to our policies. Use the report function when this occurs.
No Guarantees of Output
AI models produce probabilistic outputs. We cannot guarantee that AI-generated content will be accurate, consistent, or appropriate for any specific purpose. Do not rely on AI outputs for medical, legal, financial, psychological, safety-critical, or similar professional advice.
Data Use by Third-Party Providers
Your prompts and the AI-generated responses pass through third-party model APIs. Each provider has its own data usage policies. We use providers that offer API-tier data handling (meaning your content is generally not used to train models without your consent), but we cannot guarantee third-party provider behavior and strongly recommend reviewing their privacy policies. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data we send to which providers.
9. Moderation Framework
How We Moderate
Forge uses a layered moderation approach:
- Model-level filtering — Underlying AI models have their own safety systems that filter obvious prohibited outputs.
- AI-assisted classification — A secondary AI classifier (Gemini Flash) evaluates flagged content against our policy categories before community-visible publication actions.
- User reports — Any user may report a character card or community content. Reports are queued for human review.
- Human review — We (the platform operator) review flagged content and reports and make final moderation decisions.
Private session content (conversations not shared with other users) is not actively monitored. We may access private session content in response to a valid legal order or to investigate a credible report of Section 3a content.
Moderation Is Not Perfect
Automated classification produces false positives and false negatives. If your content was removed incorrectly, the appeal process in Section 5a applies. If you see content that should have been caught and wasn't, please report it.
10. Billing, Refunds & Disputes
Subscription Structure
Forge offers a free tier and three paid tiers (Standard, Pro, Premium) with monthly billing through Stripe. Each tier has published per-message limits, daily AI-spend soft caps, and monthly hard spend caps. The hard spend caps are enforced in code — a user on the Standard tier cannot be charged more in AI inference than their monthly cap, regardless of usage. This is a structural guarantee.
Refund Policy
- Billing error refunds: Full refund, issued within 5 business days of verification.
- Extended outage refunds: At our discretion, we may issue prorated credit or refund for outages exceeding 24 continuous hours that substantially impaired service.
- Cancellation refunds: Canceling a subscription ends it at the next billing cycle. We do not refund unused days in the current cycle unless we determine a cancellation was caused by our error.
- Termination for cause: No refund. Terminations for Section 3a violations in particular carry no refund and no appeal.
- Termination without cause: If we discontinue the Service or terminate your account without cause, we will refund unused prepaid subscription time on a prorated basis.
- Discretionary refunds: We may issue refunds outside the above cases at our sole discretion. Requesting a refund outside these categories is not a guarantee of receiving one.
11. Dispute Resolution
We prefer to resolve disputes directly. Contact us first. Most issues — billing errors, moderation disagreements, access problems — can be resolved without formal legal proceedings.
If direct resolution fails, formal disputes are governed by the Terms of Service: binding arbitration under JAMS or AAA consumer rules, seated in Salt Lake County, Utah, with a class action waiver. The governing law is Utah. The full arbitration clause is in Section 12 of the Terms of Service.
Nothing in these rules or the Terms of Service prevents you from filing a complaint with a consumer protection agency, your state attorney general, or the FTC.
12. Changes to This Document
We will update this document as the platform evolves. Material changes — particularly to Section 2 (what is permitted) or Section 3 (what is prohibited) — will be announced in-product and by email at least 14 days before taking effect for existing users. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
If you disagree with a change to permitted or prohibited content, you may cancel your account and export your content before the change takes effect. That is your recourse for policy disagreements — it is not the same as a legal dispute.
This document is a companion to the
Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between this document and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service controls. This document is provided for transparency and does not create additional legal obligations beyond those stated in the Terms of Service.
